Marry a Man, Man.

Ha. Yes! This rocks.

The Truth.

AND. Every time I go to the movies...

Umm...

I can't decide if I find this neat, amusing, or a personal nightmare. (probably the latter sprinkled with amusement)

Better than Beach Balls.

Dude. Wow.
The only thing that could bake this better (besides being high) is if the Double Rainbow guy was there to witness the giant bubbles all the way across the beach.

"As supplies come in from throughout the world, the shipping pallets for those supplies can be erected to make walls, ceilings, and floors. By covering these structures in locally-sourced finishing materials it is possible to create a quality shelter that will stand long enough for families to build permanent housing."

It's another structure built out of shipping pallets! I Beam's sustainable emergency center was originally designed as temporary housing for refugees of the Baltic War, but is now being considered as a solution to the problem of housing people displaced by natural disaster, plagues, famine, political/economic strife, or war.

[PS is anyone else wondering what the heck that awesomeness in the background is?]

Techno Wall.

Forget the fact that you can:
"Run your hand across this wallpaper to turn on a lamp, play music, or send a message to a friend."
and just look at how pretty it is!

High-Low Tech will be exhibiting the Living Wall this summer at the Fuller Craft Museum.

High-Low Tech also has a project called Electronic Popables:

"Electronic Popables is an interactive pop-up book that sparkles, sings, and moves."

Can you imagine the incredible pop-up books this technology could create?

Baby Habitat.

When I first saw this crib/playpen/changing table/chest of drawers I thought to myself "Cute! Oh crap I would probably smack my baby's fragile skull on the roof at least once a day... or at least hit my own head!" Fear not! Dave Keune thought of that too:
"The entire roof can also be opened up by rolling back the roof tiles which are connected flexibly with bright yellow ropes."

Then of course, it converts to a toddler bed and THEN the entire house packs flat for easy storage between babies or for future potential grand-babies.

LEGO Ink.

umm. SWEET.
Too bad this is just an ad campaign showcasing the extra fine lines of pilot hi-tec-C 0.25 mm pen (by 2010 cannes award winning advertising agency grey from Barcelona) and not a LEGO you can actually purchase! (as far as I know)
But I think you can buy some Zombies, Robots, Clowns, Cavemen, etc...)

Hexagonal Dreams

Made entirely of recycled tennis balls from the New York Metropolitan area, this sweet hexagonal dog bed is guaranteed to fill your pup's wee head full of frolicking fetching dreams (or confuse the hell out of her or him).
You can buy the HEX Tennis Dog Bed bed here for dogs 25 pounds and under (a larger one coming soon!). The bed also comes with a cushion (one side red, one side black).

A Morsel via Mike.

FĂștbol.

Too cute.
This video really makes me miss Spain! Though, this a lot calmer than the night Barcelona beat Manchester United in 2009 for the UEFA Champions League Final...

wow I can't believe I was in the middle of that and my group only lost one person.

"I'm on a Cow."

Oh. Wow.
I like how he mentions his ad cost nothing...

Dancin' Granny.

Aww. This makes me miss Nanny (my grandma who would always say "don't call me grandma it makes me sound old!")
On a side note: What happens to butts when you get old? Does it slowly get flattened from years of sitting on it?

More than a Shirt.

..and a Sweater.

Ship This.

The design world continues to amaze me with its ability to turn something ugly (or at least not pretty) like shipping pallets into a beautiful structure like the above or the sleek chair below.

Mommy Said Uh Uh.

Shake, Rattle, and Nom.

Nom, these rattles looks good enough to eat! If I had some tiny offspring I would nearly be obligated to buy the rainbow sprinkle one.
You buy them here at Pink Olive for $15/donut!

A Grassy Morsel from Julé .

"sowing the seeds for the revival of street art"

One of my favorite things about Barcelona is its graffiti. My roommate while I was in Barcelona loves grass (the legal kind). So I think it is magnificent that this piece by D.O.C.S. [Doing Only Crooked Shit] was created in Spain and looks like grass!

"Their piece’s leafy appearance, set upon a contrasting backdrop of stone, was inspired by the natural foliage of graveyards. Likewise, the message is delivered in the form of an epitaph, ultimately suggesting that street art is deceased."

(via Julé via Inhabitat via D.O.C.S.)

I Should Be Studying...

so, here is a video my roommates and I made when we should have been studying a few years ago.

We are probably the only people that actually find this amusing...
